The whole project is based on non-formal education and the volunteers is going to organize activities with the aim of the promotion of the European values and intercultural understanding. Volunteers will be also involved in raising awareness of active citizenship and civil society. Apart from learning to live and work in a new environment, the volunteers will gain knowledge on how to work in group - together. The HO has found mentors for all of the volunteers. The mentors will take care of volunteers, their free time and learning process. The mentors and both organizations will inform each other about the realization of the project. They will also inform the volunteers about all circumstances and problems, which may occur during the project. The communication between SO,HO and volunteers. The volunteers will work closely with the coordinator of HO. All staff of OIP will be able to provide the needed assistance and support to the volunteers. Main responsibilities will never be given to the volunteers alone. The volunteers will be involved in decision-making processes, especially if it concerns areas that they will be involved in directly. The volunteers will have the right to know about news on both sides. The local infrastructure creates many possibilities for self-initiative activities. If the volunteers are willing to develop their own ideas, they can count on the support not only from the organization’s members, but also representatives of the local community where the reconstruction work will be held.

The EVS-volunteers will receive their pocket money on the beggining of their service. They will manage money on their own. Food will be served at a local canteen or the volunteers will be responsible for the meal on their own. In this case they will be provided with money for their food allowance as well. They will be able to use the facilities they are going to have at the venue of reconstruction camp (shower, toilet, simple cooking facilities). They will be living in a room sharing it with 3 other people of the same gender. In any case accommodation will be organized by the HO and discussed with the volunteers and the SO. The mentor will help volunteer to manage everything concerning the public transportation and orientation especially in the days off since the volunteers will be able to leave for Minsk City and enjoy it while their free time. The HO will cover the cost of public transport.

As the volunteers take part in the everyday work of an NGO in cooperation with local communities for solving a problem of preserving cultural heritage object. They will gain not only the practical knowledge of wide aspects of NGO operations, but gain also intercultural experience and chance to develop as people. The volunteers will also be able to compare the situation to their own country and Belarus and possibly give suggestions for improvements. Having international volunteers brings an intercultural dimension and new qualities to the work of the HO, enticing us to develop new and creative ways of functioning. At the end of the voluntary service Youthpass will be issued to the volunteer. During last month of the service supervisor, mentor and volunteer will together work on creating youthpass. It will include reflections on volunteer learning process and personal development by mentor, supervisor and volunteer. In this way we will ensure quality of issued youthpass. Specific role of each volunteer will be the same for both stage of the project.
